Are You Addicted/Bored❓📱

Nourish Your Life, Beyond The Screen

Hi listeners!👋

Welcome back to Gastrophile’s Journey🤗

Are you addicted to your phone📱❔

Just listen to this blog — maybe it’ll help you scroll less and live more.

Today, I’m not here with a long story📜

I just want to share another reason why I created this blog — "Gastrophile’s Journey".

🤳 Are You Addicted?

Are you spending your golden time just scrolling endlessly on your mobile📱❓

Are you unknowingly creating health issues❔

Watching your phone 24/7 can make your eyes age faster, reduce your vision, and make you lazy.

It can also cause:

  • Sleep disturbances💤
  • Less physical activity⛹️
  • Neck and back pain from bad posture
  • Poor memory😧
  • Low real-life social interaction... and more!

💡 How I Got Out of Mobile Addiction

Two months ago, my screen time was a minimum of 6 hours a day.

That means I was wasting 6 to 10 hours daily on my phone.

And honestly, not even 10% of my mobile 📱 usage was useful.

I started feeling it — my eyes were irritated, and I had neck, back, and even head pain.

That’s when I decided: enough is enough.

I decided to break free from my addiction and make my time useful.

I already had the idea of starting a blog📝 channel — and I used that to replace my addiction.

I began reading articles, books📚, and taking notes to write for this blog.

My writing habit also improved significantly by creating stories, content, ideas💡 — just for you, my lovely listeners!

Yes, listeners❗ — you’ve helped me reduce my addiction. 💖

Now, I haven’t completely come out of it, but my screen time has reduced to 5 to 6 hours a day🥳.

That’s real progress!

And today, I want to share some activities that helped me distract myself from distraction — a.k.a. my mobile📱.

🧩 40 Things to Do Instead of Scrolling

1. Make a craft ✂️(photo wall, flowers, home decor)

2. Create a photo album with your old pictures 🖼️[bring back sparkling memories❗

3. Teach your pet a new trick🐶🐱

4. Try a new recipe [ Baking🥧 / Cooking 🔪]

5. Talk to your parents or grandparents — from the heart 💚💝

6. Organize your closet, study table, or home

7. Make your YOLO or bucket list (Want to know my YOLO food list?

13. Create a birthday or festival wishlist📜

14. Learn a trending dance 🪩 move

15. Call a friend or cousin — just to catch up

16. Collect and note 📑the birthdays of your favorite people💓

17. Listen to your favorite music 🎶 🎵

18. Bother your siblings😁 (happiness is seeing them smile 😄)

19. Make a to-do list or daily planner🗒️

20. Create a study or cooking timetable📃

21. Do yoga 🧘‍♀️or light exercise 🚶

22. Make a diet plan (even if you won’t follow it 😅)

23. Write a handwritten letter to someone special 🤗 - It will make them happy and feel special

24. Start a journal 📓— it's a game-changer! If you start journal, your writing and reading habit will begin to improve . And you gain discipline too.

> 📌 Tip (what I did):

Write what you did today to improve your life or moved toward a goal.

Even if you don’t have a goal yet — that’s okay. You’re not alone.

Living life without a goal/Motto isn't crime

Just go with the flow. Life still goes on beautifully.

25. Take a short walk🚶🚶‍♀️

26. Wash your bags, toys, or shoes 👟

27. Build a new habit (like stitching, dancing, singing, drawing,... — just pick one!)

28. Listen to our blog (okay, I’m kidding... or am I? 😜)

29. Sit outside and admire your surroundings 🌱— notice what you’ve missed (This shows how much you have been absorbed by your mobile and what you've missed )

30. Go shopping 🛍️ for the items your mom asked for

31. Play childhood games (nostalgia alert — it reminds you we’re getting older🥺❗)

32. Prepare for upcoming exams 💯[ I know it's boring, but just go through the syllabus and topics day by day]

33. Sit in silence — let your thoughts come and go [ at this time, your mind might speak to you, and you might feel heavy ]

> I’ve done this. Sometimes it feels heavy, but it clears your mind.

34. Do skincare or hair care🪮

35. Collect family photos and create a family tree 🌲

36. Start a small garden🎍 — plant something!

37. Write stories, quotes, or poems 💌

38. Start your own blog or channel — or  share it with me in the comments❕

39. Make a list of dream 💭places you want to visit

40. And if nothing works  or you don't want— just sleep 💤.

> (Honestly, that’s way better than endless scrolling.)

🧠 My Final Words for Today

These are just a few things that helped me reduce my mobile usage.

You don’t have to follow them all — many are one-time activities, others need to be done regularly.

👉 But if I recommend just one — it’s journaling. 10 minutes per day

It has so many benefits. Start small. Be consistent. Build a streak.

Consistency is the first step to success.

Today's story is bit short ,but I hope it's useful.

I truly believe at least one of you will save your time, health, and energy by breaking your phone habit — even just a little.

Let me know if this blog helps you in any way.

And if you have other creative ideas to beat phone addiction, share them with us in the comments!

Until the next bite...

I’m so happy you took time to stop by.

Bye👋 for now! See you in the next bite🍽️💖.

Have a beautiful day ahead. 🌼✨
