You only live once, so why not taste the world? 🌍🍴

Hi Listeners!👋

Welcome to Gastrophile's Journey 🤗

YOLO – You Only Live Once.

Have you heard of YOLO❔But do you know what YOLO means to me❓ It's the list 📃 of things I want to experience at least once in my lifetime.

We’re Gastrophiles, right? That means food lovers❕ 😋As a Gastrophile, my YOLO wish list mostly revolves around food❗Yes,I have a long list📜 of YOLO Foods I dream of tasting one day.

Today, I’m going to share some of them with you🫵, my lovely listeners.

Want to know what's on it? Just scroll down and enjoy!

🧐 What’s in My YOLO List?

I love the idea of exploring the world 🌎 — through travel 🧳, adventure, and of course, through infinite cuisines.

The truth is, I haven’t even crossed my own state twice😔. So when I do get the chance to cross borders, I'm going to make the most of it - and that starts with food 🍽️

You may ask, “ Aren't some of these dishes available in your city❓”Well, some are available in nearby cities, but not where I live.

But trying these dishes in their original places - with the right ambience, culture, people and eating style - is what makes it magical 🪄.

1.🫓 Naan & Chicken Tikka Masala🥘

This is one of the most iconic dishes in India!

I’ve heard  that almost every foreigner who visits India🇮🇳, or eats at an Indian restaurant, tried this combo.

I’ve had chapati and paratha ( The  naan family ), but not naan itself!😅  Where I live, it's common, but I know it's famous in North India.

You can pair naan with veg saalna or paneer gravy, but naan with chicken tikka masala - now that's what I call a chef’s kiss! 😍

This combo is now famous worldwide and is even considered as British national dish.

🍜2. Ramen (Inspired by Naruto🍥)

Ramen is Japan’s most famous and beloved noodle soup 🍲 --- and ever since I started watching Naruto🥷, it's been on my must try list.

Japan is my dream country, right after my own!🇯🇵 Visiting Japan is my lifelong dream💭.

My first love for Japan began with seeing their beautiful Sakura (cherry blossom🌸) festivals. Then I got into Japanese culture⛩️, dress👘, food, language an everything...

But honestly, after I started watching Naruto last year, Ramen shot straight into my top 5 YOLO foods.

I don’t even know how many varieties of Ramen exist🤔, but I'll try at least 5 popular ones!

like Naruto, I'll probably finish several bowls 🍜too ---  because I'm that inspired.

🍕3. Pizza

We all know Pizza🍕 — it’s loved everywhere!

Pizza and burgers🍔 were the first “foreign” foods I ever heard of.

I’ve had pizza once — just a basic veg one. But honestly, it wasn’t that great😒.But I want to try real, flavourful pizza - the kind everyone talks about!

I think Pizza might be the first one I actually try from my YOLO list 1️⃣, since I can get it easily — maybe just 10 km🛣️ away.

Most of you have probably had amazing pizzas, right❓

Tell me which flavor you’d recommend for a beginner like me❕

🍚4. Kimchi Fried Rice

As a K-pop stan🐨, I've learned a lot about Korean food culture 🇰🇷.That’s how I discovered kimchi — Korea’s iconic side dish and it looks so tempting in videos ❗

There are so many kinds of kimchi: napa cabbage🥬, radish, carrot🥕, and more. It looks so tempting😋!

I knew Kimchi Fried rice through Korean office and University lunch videos🎦, and it instantly caught my eye 👀.

If I ever visit Korea, this will be my first meal❗I also want to try other Korean foods like bibimbap, carbonara, tteokbokki, japchae, and of course, and all those delicious street foods🤤.

5. Schezwan Fried Rice & Noodles (Real Chinese Style)

I once read in a food book 📖 that Chinese dishes in other countries tastes different from the original. It’s often adapted to local preferences.

I’ve already had Indian-style Chinese dishes like fried rice, chilli chicken, and manchurian. But I’m curious about the authentic Chinese taste.

I’m also a big fan of Chinese kung fu movies, which made me fall in love with Chinese culture and festivals 🐲too.

One day, I want to try authentic Schezwan fried rice and Noodles in china🇨🇳--- And if possible😄, with my favorite actor Jackie Chan beside me !😅

🤫 Fact Bites...

My most favourite dish of all time isn't even on this list. But it's the common dish🤔 .

Apart from these TOP 5, I also want to try:

  • Sushi 🍣
  • Miso soup 🍲
  • Spaghetti 🍝
  • Mexico’s nachos and tortillas  🌮
  • And more and more...

Oh, and I LOVE Biryani💗. I’ve already tasted chicken, mutton, veg, and egg biryani — many times. But did you know there are hundreds+ of biryani varieties? I want to try them all!

These dishes may seem strange or fancy✨, but for me, it’s not just about food.

It’s about experience, memories📝, and trying something new.

First Step 1️⃣Without Knowing

A journey of a thousand recipes begins with a single dish Hi Listeners ! Welcome back to Gastrophile's Journey .      Here, I share not just food — but memories made from moments. Today, I’m telling you the story of the very first dish I ever made in my life , for someone truly special🤗. Let’s discover what that dish was ❓— and who that favorite person is❔ From Zero to Sweet Beginnings Back then, I didn’t even know how to make a simple cup of tea or coffee☕. I was a complete beginner in the kitchen. But something sparked inside me — I wanted to cook something from scratch. Why? Because I wanted to gift it to someone I admired deeply. I chose my favorite sweet: Palkova — a traditional Indian milk-based dessert. And the person I made it for? My favorite teacher🥰. She was my class teacher and also taught Maths — kind, graceful, and brilliant. She changed my view from “Ugh, maths is hard!😧” to “Wow! I love maths!” Why Palkova, Why H...
